Day 3: Mercedes Australian Fashion Week
On the third day in Sydney there were many varied reports circulating in the papers and on every one's lips about the quality of of some of the labels showing. The critics were scathing about poor originality and lack-luster effort. Not so of Vein with massive interest from high profile department stores in the Asian region. Looking at the above shoe it's easy to see why.
As part of the five days of Australian Fashion Week I am posting a sneak preview of key designs in the Summer 2006/2007 collection which will be available in September 2006.
Today's piece shows vintage broguing with a wash-off bone leather on a formal sneak. The design is a blurring off lines between formal and sneaker, old and new. Aged leather vs sleek profile. Vintage broguing vs new sneak construction. These shoes are extremely light and supremely comfortable. Wear them with anything. They are so damn hot, people won't even notice your clothes. Just jokes ;) They go great with blue denim straight cut, a pair black slim line jeans, or khaki dress pants.
