Day 2: Mercedes Australian Fashion Week

Day 2: Mercedes Australian Fashion Week

The second day of fashionable festivities in Sydney, Australia saw parades by Bettina Liano, Bare (by Rebecca Davies) and Alex Perry. All good stuff, but the only thing for men to sink their teeth into were the models. (Not that that's ever a "bad" thing). But the lack of masculine fashion was obvious and that's why this footwear injection is extremely timely. Pictured above is the Sting-Ray Loafer from Vein's Summer 2006/2007 collection.

As part of the five days of Aussie Fashion week I will be "sneak previewing" designs that will not be available until September 2006. This Sting-Ray Loafer is really an exquisite men's shoe in that it sports a rarely used texture.

In dark brown it is actually subtle enough to wear with a suit. If you are tired of sporting sneakers at the base of your Hugo suit, but are too young to borrow Dad's Gucci slippers, consider these fashionable yet casual alternatives. Sure they may not be perfect for the office...(you'll never get a raise if you dress that well because your boss will think you definitely have more income than him/her)...but the office is the last place a fashionable suit should be worn. Drive these wheels some where they'll get the "credit" they deserve ;)

If you would like to pre-order your pair email chris@veinwear.com and quote the code TX99-008A Brown Sting-Ray.

Vein will be featured in 3 major parades this Fashion Week with clothes by Leopold, Red Cordial and Trimapee and we will have runway pics for you very soon!
