Brunori Ankle Boot - Brown Check out the beautiful nutty-colored brown leather on this beautiful boot! Obviously it is quite a simple boot and that is a lot of its appeal. The interesting detail lies with the buckled strap around the ankle. Presumably its function is to tighten the fit of the shoe around the ankle. But that is really what the elastic is for on a well fitted shoe. So the detail here is a cosmetic design aspect and a very nice one. It give the boot an understated and unique twist. The slim rounded toe profile works very well with the low-cut stacked leather heel (2.8cm). It is fully leather lined. The sole is made from leather and looks great due its lack of chunky volume. It is a very fashionable boot that can be worn with the latest trends in formal clothing. At the same time, due to its simplicity, it can be worn with much more conservative clothing. These rides come from Brunori. You can find them on the www.forzieri.com website. They will set you back a very reasonable US$475.00. A fine investment given the range of clothing you can compliment them with. The come with some extra goodies like individual dust bags, shoe horn, cleaning cloth and polish. They are available in sizes EU40-46.For more hot shoes check out www.veinwear.com
Tony Lama Lizard Boot Oh yeah baby! If you want to look like a cowboy at least do it with a little authenticity...a little style. Forget cheesy western imitation styles from high street shoe retailers. Go straight to the source with a pair of chocolate lizard skin Tony Lama cowboy boots. Sure your feet probably swing over horseback as often as your Jeep goes off-road, but that's not what it's about is it? Since 1911 in El Paso, Texas, Mr Lama was making boots for the hard men of the wild west. Boots that would stand up to anything and keep kicking dirt all day long. Nowadays the company has added a few creature comforts with special padding in the sole and a super durable shank. There are over 100 individual steps involved in the construction of each boot, starting with picking the cow...um well maybe ;) Some of the Tony Lama designs are really garish with awful colour combinations. This one however is beautiful and the deep chocolate leather all over is perfect. The cow and lizard leather matches well and the texture combination makes for a truly desirable item. Check them out at www.tonylama.com or buy a pair at Chippewa Boots & Shoes by Boot Barn (click link below eBay search box on the right).

Giorgio Brutini Boot
Giorgio occasionally comes out with a great shoe and this demi-boot is a fine example. And when a boot as fine as this comes from Giorgio it is great news for the hip pocket because they are priced well below reasonable. This boot is only US$60.00. Can't beat that for a knock-around pair.
As far as 4.5 inch ankle boots go, it is very well designed. Narrow at the chiseled toe end and very sleek in profile. It is also available in black and grey, but the brown brush-off effect is beautiful. At $60.00 I can't confirm that they are genuine leather though. If they are then hats off to Mr Brutini. The stitch-down edge and single zip entry are very elegant details that compliment a sweet wing-tip brogue adaptation.
The Giorgio Brutini seems to have some history behind it but I'll be damned if I can find what it is. After looking through the www.giorgiobrutini.com website there was no story to be found. Which leads me to believe that there really isn't a story, which makes me wonder if there really is a man named Giorgio Brutini, which in turn makes me wonder if they do their own original designs or not. For now I will give them the benefit of the doubt because this boot is sensational. If you know better, let me know.

Ben Sherman Sheratan BootBen Sherman, the Mod God has created a beautiful suede and leather combination boot for this season's festivities. Or should I say, the company that bears his name has created them. Alfred Benjamin Sugarman (who later changed his name to Ben Sherman) died in 1987, aged 62. The fashion label he created was adopted by children of the Mod movement. The Mod movement was about everything a teenager wanted to be - stylish, smart, tough, street-wise, good-looking and popular. The boot is a nice take on a classic wing-tip design and bears the recognisable Union Jack button. It is leather lined with a combination rubber and leather outsole. Wear these boots while listening to Small Faces, the Who or the Beatles. Live baby live! It's the 60's revolution. You can check out the Ben Sherman range at www.bensherman.com - quite a cool site :)
