Sole Survivor

This article is from Image Magazine. It features the Vein Wear Winged Lacer in Perforated Black Leather.
I'm not totally sure what the "sole survivor" reference is, but there have been a lot of shoe stores and shoe labels closing down lately...
Here is the article text:

Lads, it's true we ladies do get a
tad carried away with our bags
and shoes at times so here's
something for you ... fabulous
footwear from Vein. Walk tall.

HOT Australian men's label Vein has released a new
Design, the Winged Lacer, and the creation comes
from one of Brisbane's own.

Vein director and head designer Chris McCallum,
of Kedron, says the new model has "a sexy low profile
with flowing curves for those guys who don't want
much of a point at the end of their foot".

"The design is so versatile I created it to be a
stable in every man's shoe collection," he says.

"It can be worn with casual day wear or for when
you're heading out at night. It is the perfect shoe
for those who have wider feet and is so incredibly
comfortable."

Vein shoes are designed for men who love their
footwear.

With this passion in mind, there is a unique
integrity to how Vein shoes are made and Chris has
tracked down the finest cobblers to handcraft his
designs, with tight curves and beautiful lines as the
brand's trademark.

The Winged Lacer retails for $249, available from
The Vein Store in TCB on Brunswick St Mall, Fortitude Valley QLD or online at
www.veinwear.com.

Discerning Bride Magazine

Discerning Brides, it seems, are also discerning what looks are in season for the men in their bridal parties. Always Habit put together these looks for summer. Strong are lighter and softer colours. Suits in white, beige, sand and grey are matched with white or pastel coloured shirts.
Shoes that go well are tans, greys, beiges and whites.

Alvin Manalo - Saint Augustine Academy Designer

There was once an unemployed designer named Alvin, who liked to flog printed tees and jeans at weekend markets. Turns out his wares were pretty ace and became a big hit. Five years later, and AJ's now fully fledged fashion label, Saint AugustineAcademy, is stocked all overtheworld.
Yay for him! He has a pretty cool rock-star following too, including Interpol, The Killers and Bloc Party. So FHM Magazine thought they'd chuck Alvin $1000 to deliver us instant credo.
His pick for shoes...Vein Wear Speed Stripe Zip Ankle Boot. Manalo says, "These boots have become my number-one wardrobe staple. They make a great everyday item."
